Sendiks Fine Foods – Franklin, WI

This 62,000 square foot upscale grocery store was designed to meet the owner’s needs while working well within the confines of a unique site. The building is one of eight on the twenty acre site and is tucked into a remote area of the wetland bound site. Strategic site lines, the use of rich facade materials, and the robust scaled entry tower element were incorporated into the design in order to maximize the building’s exposure and prominence on the site. The building also makes efficient use of precast concrete panel construction on three of the facades. This insulated sandwich panel provides excellent thermal performance as does the intricately detailed front facade of the building. While assuming a bold presence on the site from afar, the owner wanted the interior to express an intimate scale. This was accomplished through the use of intricate lighting schemes, varying ceiling heights, and complimentary color palettes.
